5,000 scholarships in 2007

eSpindle Learning, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to vocabulary and spelling instruction, announces a significant expansion of its grant program. 5,000 free licenses will be awarded throughout 2007.
Organizations seeking to improve vocabulary retention through the innovative use of web-based technology may apply. Individual scholarships are also available.

The grant program is an expression of eSpindle's commitment to help students of all ages and skill levels to expand their vocabulary--the foundation of independent thought and confident communication.
www.eSpindle.org provides innovative and comprehensive tutoring support with quick,
customized sessions that teach how words sound, what they mean, and how they are spelled.

eSpindle has won a 2006 Parents' Choice Award. The North Carolina Department of Pubic Instruction recommends eSpindle as "well-designed and powerful."

"Our goal is to match paid memberships with scholarships for disadvantaged students," says Rosevita Warda, founder and president of eSpindle Learning. "We are glad to say that our first year on the web has been very successful, because our program is a unique solution, providing much needed support to teachers, students and parents. We issued 1,700 free licenses in our start-up phase and are now committing to triple this amount in 2007."

The in-kind grants cover all expenses, including subscription, training and support costs for one year and are valued at $250,000.

Applicants are required to:
- subscribe to eSpindle's free 10-day trial to test-drive the project before applying;
- submit a statement of need;
- communicate how they plan to integrate this program into their curriculum;
- devise a curriculum plan that includes at least 30 minutes of eSpindle time a week;
- have the technological infrastructure for Internet-based instruction.

How to apply:
Visit www.eSpindle.org/grants and complete the online questionnaire.
